Run 189 – Cucador
There was a superb turnout for the “Hunt the Bunny” hash in Cucador this morning, as even those with hangovers from the party of the century in Arboleas rocked up ready for a run or a walk.
The home of Vladilostcock and R Sogler was overrun with hares and bunnies – keen to get started.
The three hares, R Sogler, Vladilostcock and Over Defence explained the marks, all with an egg theme and also pointed out that the walkers had paper bunnies to find… with a prize for the person who found the most.
Off we all set with a walk through the countryside, past the fields of Aloe Vera and orchards… happily disturbing the peace and quiet.
Not only did the walkers and runners get out and about, but what seems to be the entire dog pupulation of Almería truned up too… complete with their chorus of excited woofing.
Back at the home of Vladilostcock and R Sogler, everyone gathered afterwards where the hunt for golden bunnies continued before the closing circle was formed.
Down-Downs
A rubbish hash – The three hares, R Sogler, Vladilostcock and Over Defence received the obligatory down-downs for the “rubbish hash”. It was very well deserved, everything had been organised beautifully – even if some nameless runners chose to ignore the markings. It was at this point that the tone of the down-downs were set, with R Sogler giving Norman Bates a good soaking. Of course he returned the favour and several of the following down-downs resutled in beer flying.
Virgins – there were five new victims virgins at the hash today and they too received a down-down, with two of the fellas remaining behind for an extra one for keeping their hats on in the circle. (Is it just me who sees the look of sheer terror on the faces of virgins and sniggers?)
Hashing on Hills – two members received a down-down for “hashing on hills” after the trip to Kathmandu but sadly they’d forgotten their hash names. Naughty naughty!!
Blind leading the blind – Puff TheMagicDragon had tio down his beer for walking with a white stick, which Norman Bates chose to use to drag him into the circle… by his neck.
Watering the Campo – Bog Trotter, true to form , was in the circle for this down-down… but this time she was accompanied by Slippery Fimgers (who claimed he’d been examining a rare butterfly) and Flowery Knickers (whose “little white bum” had been spotted by Slot Machine).
What the..? Key Fob was in for having his thunder stolen, but I wasn’t paying attention so I haven’t a clue what that was all about. Yes, I was the same for not paying attention in school (actually I wasn’t… but let’s not let the truth get in the way of a good story). He received his punishment in good humour and… OH MY GOD IT’S A PUPPY!!
Okay I’m back now…
Hardly a golden chalice – There may have been sparkly trim on Necrophiliac’s new shoes, but it didn’t stop him from having to drink beer from them. Bleurgh!
Speaking of shoes – Slot Machine was also sent into the circle, for “inappropriate footwear”. I’m sure I don’t know what’s wrong with wearing my slippers on the hash… but I’ll take the drink! Puff also ran in and gave me a squeeze whilst proclaiming “Are they Huggs?”
Chicken Run – Can’t Cum Try Again was hauled into the circle for cruelty to chickens after launching her Easter Chick prizes all over the floor.
Christening
A new couple were pulled into the circle being holding hands on the hash – soppy pair! And promptly received a joint Christening – Romeo and Juliet. However of course these things always come with a twist and Norman Bates promptly named the lady as Romeo and the man as Juliet.
Renaming
It is today that we say “Goodbye” to Non Cents and “Hello” to “Sat Nav” – Cosmo’s brand new name.
Super food
After the closing song it was time to eat, and everyone eagerly tucked in to R Sogler’s chilli con carne with rice, and lasagne. This was followed by a choice of tiramisu or lemon cake. It was all washed down with plenty of beer. Thanks R Sogler – it was a super spread!
What a great hash. Great weather, great company, a christening and renaming and a lovely spread!
Next hash
The next hash is in Bédar and all walkers are advised to bring torches… because part of the trail will be in the dark.
On on!!
Please take a couple of minutes of quiet reflection to join the Hashers as we honour those who died in Belgium and those today in Pakistan
